THE EFFICIENCY IN WORK BY APPLYING THE PRINCIPLES OF IDDHIPADHAMMA OF PERSONNEL OF SAMCHUK SUBDISTRICT MUNICIPALITY AT SAMCHUK DISTRICT IN SUPHANBURI PROVINCE

Abstract

Objectives of this research article were: 1. To examine the level of work performance efficiency of personnel in Sam Chuk Sub-district Municipality, Sam Chuk District, Suphanburi Province 2. To investigate the relationship between the principles of Iddhipada and the work performance efficiency of personnel in Sam Chuk Sub-district Municipality, and 3. To propose the application of Iddhipada principles to enhance the work performance efficiency of personnel in Sam Chuk Sub-District Municipality. The study employed a mixed-methods approach. The quantitative research used a questionnaire as the main instrument, with simple random sampling. The qualitative research relied on in-depth interviewing 10 key informants, including scholars and practitioners in Buddhism and public administration, political officials, civil servants in Sam Chuk Sub-District Municipality, and community leaders within the municipality. Data were analyzed was conducted using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson’s correlation coefficient, while interview data were analyzed using content analysis by deswcriptive interpretation.

The findings revealed that: 1. The overall work performance efficiency of municipal personnel was at a moderate level. The highest average score was in work quality, followed by the cost-effectiveness of resources, speed, and workload, all of which were at moderate levels. 2. The relationship between the Iddhipada principles and work performance efficiency showed a moderate positive correlation with statistical significance. Specifically, Citta, attention and Vimamsa investigation/reflection had a moderate positive correlation, while Chanda desire/interest and Viriya, effort showed a low positive correlation. 3. The application of Iddhipada principles to enhance work performance included: Chanda; promoting positive attitudes, continuous improvement, recognition of good performance, time management, and teamwork. Viriya; fostering determination, setting challenging goals, discipline, and the use of technology. Citta; emphasizing attentiveness, careful planning, creating a focused atmosphere, and reducing errors; and Vimamsa; encouraging analytical thinking, immediate problem- solving, data-driven improvement, and creative resource allocation.
