BUDDHADHAMMA APPLICATION FOR PROMOTING ADMINISTRATION OF CHIK DEAK SUB-DISTRICT ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION, PHANOM DONG RAK DISTRICT, SURIN PROVINCE

Abstract

This research article aims to: 1. examine the administrative level of Chik Deak Sub-District Administrative Organization, 2. investigate factors influencing the administration of Chik Deak Sub-District Administrative Organization, and 3. propose the application of Buddhist principles to enhance the administration of Chik Deak Sub-District Administrative Organization, Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province. A mixed-methods research design was employed. For the quantitative component, data were collected from 365 residents aged 18 years and above in Chik Deak Sub-District Administrative Organization, Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province, using a questionnaire as the research instrument. Data analysis utilized descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, as well as stepwise multiple regression analysis to test the relationships among variables. The qualitative component involved in-depth interviews with 10 key informants.

Findings were as follows: 1. the overall administrative level of Chik Deak Sub-District Administrative Organization, Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province, was at a high level; 2. the PDCA administrative process had a statistically significant effect on the administration of Chik Deak Sub-District Administrative Organization at the 0.01 level, and the Four Bases of Success (Iddhipada) had a statistically significant effect on the administration of Chik Deak Sub-District Administrative Organization at the 0.01 level; and 3. the application of Buddhist principles encompassed infrastructure development, economic affairs, education-religion-culture, public health, natural resource and environmental conservation, and human and social development. These applications were integrated with the Four Bases of Success (Iddhipada) to enhance administrative management: Chanda (aspiration and satisfaction in work), Viriya (diligent effort and perseverance), Citta (mindful attention to work), and Vimamsa (wisdom-based reasoning and investigation). The administrative process was fundamentally grounded in the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle, comprising planning, plan implementation, monitoring and evaluation of plan execution, and continuous improvement and corrective action.
