Abstract

Human Resource Technology serves as an important mechanism that enables modern organizations to manage change in a clear and strategic direction, particularly when digital transformation continuously affects organizational structures, work processes, and employee behavior. This academic article synthesizes the role of Human Resource Technology in change management by explaining the relationship between digital technology development and human resource management in an increasingly complex context. Human Resource Technology is therefore considered a coordinating component that integrates data, work systems, human resource management processes, and employee behavior in alignment with organizational goals. It also enables the human resource function to shift from an operational support role toward a strategic mechanism that promotes learning, capability development, and data-driven decision-making. The main content of this article indicates that Human Resource Technology plays a role in enhancing the efficiency of HR functions through digital systems such as HRIS, AI, Big Data, and Cloud, while also supporting data-driven decision-making, skill development, resistance reduction, and employee participation in the change process. The article applies Lewin’s concept to explain the change process, Kotter’s concept as a practical approach for driving change, and Judson’s concept to consider the impacts on employees. These concepts lead to the proposal of HR Technology as a mechanism that connects people, processes, and technology to support adaptation, the use of data in work, and the development of an organizational learning culture. Nevertheless, the use of technology still involves limitations related to cost, employee readiness, data quality, privacy, ethics, and the human relations dimension. Therefore, the use of Human Resource Technology in change management should be implemented alongside digital skill development, clear communication, employee participation, and appropriate governance so that change can be realized in practice and contribute to sustainable organizational development.
