THE ROLE OF LOCAL ADMINISTRATORS IN PROMOTING PUBLIC POLITICAL PARTICIPATION TO ENHANCE QUALITY OF LIFE

Abstract

This academic article aims to present the significance of public political participation alongside the role of local administrators, which serves as an important mechanism for the development of grassroots democracy. It provides opportunities for citizens to participate in determining the direction of local development based on a people-centered approach, which constitutes a fundamental basis for decentralization and local self-governance. Political participation contributes to improving the quality of life of the people in economic, social, and political dimensions through policy-making processes that are consistent with the context and needs of the community. It also fosters mutual understanding between the government and the public, while promoting awareness of rights, duties, and shared social responsibilities. Local administrators, therefore, should play a role in creating spaces and opportunities for inclusive political participation, promoting political and governmental knowledge and understanding, connecting public problems and needs to the policy-making process, and driving policies toward concrete implementation. In addition, they should continuously monitor and evaluate policy outcomes. The key conditions for success include cooperation between local administrators and the public, transparency in administration, openness to public opinions, and continuous participation from all sectors. These factors will contribute to improving the quality of life, reducing inequality, strengthening communities, and supporting sustainable local and national development.
