WORK PERFORMANCE EFFICIENCY ACCORDING TO ITDHIPADA PRINCPLE OF BANGKHLA SUB-DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY PERSONNAL IN CHACHOENGSAO PROVINCE

Abstract

This research article aimed to: 1. study the level of work performance efficiency; 2. examine the relationship between the Iddhipada principles and work performance efficiency; and 3. propose guidelines for developing work performance efficiency based on the Iddhipada principles among personnel of Bang Khla Subdistrict Municipality, Chachoengsao Province. This study employed a mixed-methods research design. For the quantitative research, data were collected from a sample of 386 respondents using a questionnaire with an overall reliability coefficient of 0.979. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson’s correlation coefficient. For the qualitative research, in-depth interviews were conducted with 10 purposively selected key informants, and the data were analyzed using systematic content analysis.

The findings revealed that 1. The overall level of work performance efficiency was high ( = 3.77). The aspects, ranked from highest to lowest, were operating costs, quantity of work, time, and quality of work, respectively. 2. The overall relationship between the Iddhipada principles and work performance efficiency among personnel of Bang Khla Subdistrict Municipality was moderately positive (r = .707**) and statistically significant at the 0.01 level. When individual aspects were considered, all aspects showed moderate positive relationships, ranked from highest to lowest as Chanda, Vimamsa, Viriya, and Citta, respectively; and 3. The proposed development of work performance efficiency involved applying the four Iddhipada principles to work performance in four areas: 1. quality of work, through systematic planning, accurate and complete performance in accordance with regulations, and reliability; 2. quantity of work, through systematic operations, appropriate prioritization, and complete achievement of work targets; 3. time, through clear and systematic work procedures that facilitate prompt operations and timely completion; and 4. operating costs, through economical and cost-effective use of resources, systematic budget planning, transparency, accountability, and awareness of the value of resource utilization.
