The objectives of this research were: 1. to examine the general conditions of cyber threat awareness between Generation X and Generation Y personnel within Technothani, and 2. to develop guidelines for enhancing cyber threat awareness between Generation X and Generation Y personnel within Technothani. This was a qualitative study with 18 key informants selected through purposive sampling, comprising 9 Generation X and 9 Generation Y personnel. The research instrument was a semi-structured interview form verified for content validity by experts. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using content analysis, applying the Knowledge-Attitude-Behavior (KAB) framework to examine awareness conditions and the Knowledge-Skills-Attitudes (KSA) framework to develop the guidelines.
The findings were as follows: 1. The awareness of both generations shared common characteristics: in the knowledge dimension, support staff had limited ability to distinguish threat types; in the attitude dimension, they viewed cybersecurity as the responsibility of the IT department; and in the behavior dimension, they prioritized convenience over security. Generation X adhered to traditional working methods, while Generation Y showed carelessness stemming from technological familiarity; both generations shared a strength in email-checking vigilance; and 2. The guidelines were based on the KSA framework across three dimensions: Knowledge, through easily comprehensible communication and regular refresher training; Skill, through developing observation and systematic incident-reporting skills, as well as secure password management; and Attitude, through reframing cybersecurity as a shared responsibility of all personnel, with the guidelines tailored to the differences between Generation X and Generation Y.
