MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF CULTURAL AND TRADITIONAL TOURISM IN AYUTTHAYA PROVINCE

Abstract

This research article aims to study Problems in the management of cultural and traditional tourism Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province It is qualitative research. Through in-depth interviews with 18 key informants or people, data were analyzed descriptively.

The research results found that General conditions regarding the potential to attract tourism include 1. having beautiful historical sites; able to attract tourists all over the world 2. is a multicultural society There is a diversity of religions. and is a city of peace. 3. There are many beautiful temples. It is a tourist attraction for both Thai people and foreigners. The potential for supporting tourism includes 1. developing monks to have knowledge in preserving ancient sites 2. organizing activities that are consistent with community way of life. and encourage people to participate in organizing activities 3. develop religious places to accommodate tourists in terms of management consisting of 1. integration of all religions 2. receiving financial support from various agencies 3. Many tourist attractions in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province are better managed than before in terms of their potential to attract tourism, including: 1. Temples in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province still lack the budget for developing old religious places and constructing new religious places. that preserves Thai arts and culture, and their own local culture 2. emphasizes only one form of tourism to worship Buddha Lack of education for tourists 3. Activities organized by temples in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province Focus on people from outside Lack of public relations and attracting the attention of local people in organizing joint activities with tourist attractions. The potential for supporting tourism includes 1.the area of tourist attractions is cramped; Unable to accommodate many tourists Especially temples in the city islands 2. Lack of skills in language and explaining the history 3.
