FACTORS AFFECTING THE SUCCESS OF SAP SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION: A CASE STUDY OF C.J. EXPRESS GROUP COMPANY LIMITED

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the success of SAP System implementation of C.J. Express Group Company Limited, 2) to study factors of SAP System implementation of C.J. Express Group Company Limited’s staff and 3) to study factors affecting the success of SAP System implementation of C.J. Express Group Company Limited’s staff.  The data had been collected using questionnaire from the sample of 230 staff of various departments using SAP System.  The data was analyzed by statistical technique of Independent-sample t-test, One Way ANOVA: F-test and Multiple Regression Analysis. It was found that : 1. The average of overall opinion on the success of SAP System implementation was at high level (  = 3.62).  On each aspect, quality and reliability (  = 3.81), the promptness of result (  = 3.68), both were at high level and the users’ satisfaction was at moderate level (  = 3.38) respectively. 2. The average of overall opinion on factors of SAP System implementation of C.J. Express Group Company Limited’s staff was at high level (  = 3.75).  On each aspect, the average was at high level for all aspects with the highest one was on knowledge and understanding on assigned job (  = 3.86), on consulting SAP System (  = 3.83), on training SAP System (  = 3.72) and on skill of SAP System implementation (  = 3.58) respectively. 3. The factors affecting the success of SAP System implementation of C.J. Express Group Company Limited’s staff, it was found that factors on knowledge and understanding in assigned job, on training and skill of SAP System implementation affected to the success at 56.40 percent (R2 = 0.564) at the statistical significant level of 0.05.  The most affected variables to the success were the training of SAP System (Beta = .451), skill of SAP System implementation (Beta = .223) and knowledge and understanding of assigned job (Beta = .145) respectively.
