The Mediation Effects of Quality of work life toward Work Happiness of Staff in a Petroleum Station in Samut Sakhon Province

Abstract

The aims of the research were to investigate: 1) quality of work life as a meditated factor correlated with work environment and work happiness; and 2) quality of work life as a mediated factor correlated with employee engagement and work happiness of staff in a Petroleum Station in Samut Sakhon province. Samples in the research were 100 staff in a Petroleum Station in Samut Sakhon province. Research instrument was a questionnaire, which was statistically analyzed by using percentage, means, standard deviation, and structural equation modelling (SEM) analyses. Research findings revealed that: 1) Quality of work life as a mediated factor correlated with work environment and work happiness had the coefficient scale of Boot LLCI (Boot Strap Limit Confidence Intervals) at 0.83; whereas its coefficient scale of Boot ULCI (Bootstrap Upper Limit Confidence Intervals) was at 0.363. 2) Finally, for quality of work life as a mediated factor correlated with employee engagement and work happiness of Petroleum Station staff, coefficient scale of Booth LLCI was at 0.030 and its Booth ULCI was at 0.501. Based on the research findings, it ascertained when staff worked in good work environment and had both proper quality of work life and proper daily routines, this could contribute staff's work engagement and promote their work happiness with their achievement and effectiveness in order to further achieve expected organization goals.
