The Study of Competency for Creating Learning Innovation of Pre-service Teachers in English Major, Faculty of Education, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the competency in creating learning innovation on English pronunciation of English Department’s students and 2) to study the competency in creating English teaching communication innovation of English Department’s students. The sample was 70 students in English Department, Faculty of Education, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, consisting of sophomore and senior students being selected by using purposive random sampling method. Statistics used to analyze data include percentages, mean and standard deviation. The researcher found that 1) the competency in creating learning innovation on English pronunciation of English Department’s students on skill aspect was at high level ( = 4.44, S.D.= 0.07). On all aspects were at high level with the highest was on students work with system and clear procedures at ( = 4.77, S.D.= 0.42).  On attitude aspect, the overall was at the highest level  ( = 4.65, S.D.= 0.03) and also on each aspect, with the highest on students were interested to study new technology lead to create new innovation ( = 4.74, S.D.= 0.44) and 2) the competency in creating English teaching communication innovation of English Department’s students on skill aspect in overall was at high level ( = 4.45, S.D.= 0.11).  On each aspect, the highest was on students work with system and clear procedures at ( = 4.89, S.D.= 0.31). On attitude aspect, the overall was at the highest level ( = 4.66, S.D.= 0.02).  On each aspect were also on the highest levels with the highest on students were ready in creating new innovation ( = 4.73, S.D.= 0.44).
