Abstract

The purposes of this research are 1) to study student council administration process according to democracy of large-sized secondary school and 2) to propose guidelines for student council administration process according to democracy of large-sized secondary school. This research is a mixed methods research. The quantitative research, the sample was administrators and teachers of large-sized secondary school consisting of 314 people. The instrument was questionnaire. The statistics used in data analysis are frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The qualitative research, the sample was administrators of large-sized secondary school consisting of 5 people. The instrument was structured interview forms and analyze the data by content analysis. The result of the study were 1) student council administration process according to democracy of large-sized secondary school, in overall it was in the high level ( = 3.99) When considering in each aspect, it was found that the highest mean was Respect aspect ( = 4.01), followed by Unity aspect ( = 4.00) while the lowest mean was Wisdom aspect ( = 3.97). 2) The guidelines of student council administration process according to democracy of large-sized secondary school found that the Respect aspect, the administrators and teachers take the lead in participating in activities related to the nation, religion, monarchy institutions. For the Unity aspect, the administrators and teachers support activities that hold the benefit of the public. For the Wisdom aspect, the administrators and teachers train students to use their intelligence to analyze situations using reason.
