Abstract

Spiritual Leadership is an essential characteristic in order to motivate oneself and the others. It encourages the response through working in the organization. At the present, the number of young school administrators has increased because young teachers tend to study in the management field. For this reason, the young administrators seem to lack of work experience. A lack of vision, spiritual leadership, management skill, morals, love, and faith lead to incompetent work. In addition, the school administrators will be not likely to gain trust from the subordinates. Accordingly, the researcher would like to study on the approaches for developing spiritual leadership of school administrators under The Secondary Educational Service  Area Office  Bangkok 2. The purposes of this research were to 1) study on the spiritual leadership of the school administrators and 2) find out the approaches for developing spiritual leadership of school administrators under The Secondary Educational Service Area Office Bangkok 2. The scopes of the research consist of faith, hope, power, trust, and the meaning of life. This research was conducted by the mixed method. The population was 688 teachers from the medium-sized schools under The Secondary Educational Service Area Office Bangkok 2 2019. The Krejcie and Morgan table was applied to determine the sample size which leads to 242 samples and the simple random to find the proportion of each school. The research instrument was the questionnaire in 5-scale with the reliability at 0.98 as well as the constructed interviews. The data analysis was conducted by the statistic of percentage, median, and standard deviation. According to the qualitative method, population of this research consisted of 3 secondary school administrators under The Secondary Educational Service Area Office Bangkok 2 who were selected by purposive sampling method. The research instruments were structured questionnaires and the interview to the school administrators. The data analysis was completed by the content analysis process.  The findings revealed that 1) The current condition of approaches for developing spiritual leadership of school administrators under secondary education area 2 is at the maximum level (  = 4.60). When considering in all aspects, the power is at (  =4.66), the faith is at ( =4.63), the trust is at (   = 4.63), the hope is at (   = 4.58), and the meaning of life, which is the lowest is at (   = 4.49). 2) The suggestion for approaches for developing spiritual leadership of school administrators in terms of faith. It was revealed that the school administrators should provide the working environment to motivate the sense of self-development. In terms of hope, the school administrators should build morality in the organization. As for the power, the school administrators should have courage in order to make a decision and problem solving skills. As for the trust, the school administrators should demonstrate forgiveness; accept mistakes, and give and opportunity to the colleagues. As the part of the meaning of life, the school administrators should realize of the self-value to set the life goals. The benefits of this research are to guide how to improve the personal development. The data can be applied to manipulate the teachers and other school subordinates to gain confidence, faith, hope, power, trust, and the meaning of life and to help the organization development to move forward.
