Abstract

The purpose of this research were to create a test, norms and to examine and develop the awareness of online media use in children and youth in Ladprao Canal Community. The sample group were 600 children and youth from Ladprao Canal Community. They were selected by using multi-stage random sampling, while 30 of them came from volunteering. The research tool were online media use awareness test and an activity to help children and youth become aware of their online media use. The results showed that the test had 20 question items. Each one had content validity, discrimination, and reliability of 0.81.The norms of this test can be divided into 3 levels: high, moderate, and low. The scores were T58 and higher, T43 to T57, and lower than T43, respectively. Overall awareness of online media use in children in Ladprao Canal Community was in the high level, while 55.50% of them had average online media use awareness, 22.50% of them had low awareness and 22.00% had high awareness, which were very close. Awareness of online media use was higher after the activity, when compared with before activity.
