Leadership for Executives of Local Government Organizations: A Case Study of the Office of Mai Ngam Subdistrict Municipality in Mueang Tak District, Tak Province

Abstract

The purpose of the research seemed to investigate leadership for executives of local government organizations and community leaders of Mai Ngam Subdistrict Municipality in Mueang Tak District, Tak Province, which used documentary analysis and in-depth interviews with key informants consisting of 11 executives and community leaders. The findings of the research indicated that; leadership for executives and community leaders comprised 4 components as follows: 1) in terms of idealized influence, it was found that the leaders had to be good role models, and gave everyone in the community the opportunity to attend activities and express opinions for those activities. 2) For inspiration motivation, it was found that the leaders must be dedicated to working, and can motivate and inspire the colleagues to work successfully. 3) For intellectual stimulation, it can be said that the leaders must give everyone the opportunity to participate in expressing knowledge and abilities according to their individual potential completely. 4) In terms of individualized consideration, it was found that the leaders had to assign the tasks thoroughly according to individual skills and abilities, and gave helpful advice to help everyone to carry out their work. Obviously, each component was important, and it can encourage the executives of local government organizations and community leaders of Mai Ngam Subdistrict Municipality to manage the work to achieve their goals and lead to sustainable local development.
