Abstract

The purposes of this study were 1) to investigate the current conditions, desirable conditions, and needs as well as 2) to propose guidelines for the enhancement of the organization commitment of teachers in small-sized schools under the Phetchabun Primary Educational Service Area Office 3. This study employed the descriptive research methods. Data were collected from 269 school executive using five-point scale questionnaires. The statistics used in the analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. In addition, the qualitative data were also gathered from five school executives through a semi-structured interview. The collected data were analyzed using the content analysis and PNImodified. The results of the study revealed that 1) the current conditions in all three aspects were on the highest level. The highest need was the willingness to devote oneself to working for the benefits of the organization. In addition, 2) it was found that the guidelines for the enhancement of the organization commitment of teachers included increasing the executives’ responsibilities, instilling the positive attitudes, creating good working environment, and assigning the right job to the right persons so that teachers would have a chance to develop themselves.
