A Study on Problems and Solving Guidelines for Administration of Information Technology in Schools under The Municipality of Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya

Abstract

The purposes of the research were: 1) to study problems of information technology administration in schools and 2) to propose solving guidelines for administration of information technology in schools. The research procedure included 2 stages. Stage 1 was study problems of information technology administration in schools. The sample group, using stratified sampling, consisted of 122 teachers under The Municipality of Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya. The research instrument employed was a questionnaire. The reliability was at 0.98. Statistical analysis was conducted using mean, and standard deviation. Stage 2 was providing solving guidelines for administration of information technology in schools. The key informants, obtained from purposive sampling, included 5 experts. The research instrument was a semi-structured interview and analyze the data with content analysis techniques. The research results revealed as follows: 1) information technology administration in schools under Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Municipality, the overall problem was at a moderate level ( = 3.41, S.D.= 0.87). The side with the highest average was control, monitoring and evaluation of information technology ( = 3.44, S.D.= 0.96), followed by determination of roles and duties of administrators and information technology personnel ( = 3.42, S.D.= 0.95), and the side with the lowest mean was information technology infrastructure ( = 3.38, S.D.= 0.88); and 2) the solving guidelines for administration of information technology in schools consisted of 32 lists of practice. Five sides were obtained in information technology administration in schools. Side one included information technology infrastructure, containing 10 lists. Side two included information technology organization, containing 7 lists. Side three included information technology strategic planning, containing 6 lists. Side four included determination of roles and duties of administrators and information technology personnel, containing 5 lists. Side five included containing 4 lists.
