Factors Affecting the Decision to Choose Thai Traditional Medicine Services of the People in Bangkok and Its Vicinity

Abstract

The purpose of this research were to study; 1) the level of the service selection and the decision to choose Thai traditional medicine; 2) to compare the decision to choose Thai traditional medicine, classified by personal factors; and 3) to present a relationship between the service selection and the decision to choose Thai traditional medicine. This research is a quantitative research method by using a close-ended questionnaire for survey research. Data were collected from 400 persons who used to the decision to choose Thai traditional medicine by non-probability sampling and purposive sampling. The statistic were analyzed by the frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test, and multiple regression analysis in the enter method. The research findings revealed that 1) the service selection factor and the decision to choose were at a high level, with an average value of 3.66 and 4.01, standard deviation; .166 and .232; 2) personal factors by age, education, and income influenced the decision to choose Thai traditional medicine at a statistically significant level of .05; and 3) the service selection factors by culture, social, personal, and physiological predict influence on the decision to choose Thai traditional medicine in Bangkok and its vicinity at the value R2=.031 or 3.10 percent.
