Guidelines for Preventing Cybercrime in Thailand

Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to study problems of cybercrime in Thailand, 2) to study guidelines for preventing cybercrime in Thailand, and 3) to propose guidelines for preventing cybercrime in Thailand. The research model is qualitative research. The data was collected with In-depth interview and Semi-structured interview. The key informants consisted of 5 police working in cybercrime field for more than 5 years, 5 academicians who has working experience in cybercrime more than 5 years, and 4 people who has pressed charge of cybercrime in Thailand, including offences of plishing, mobile malware, identity theft, and social media. The total informant was 14. The results found that cybercrime was one of computer crimes that offenders purposed to commit in cyberspace, and borderless network was used to threaten other people’s personal computer data. The forms of crime commitment were changed to be faster, wider, and more convenience, but the offender detection process is harder. In order to prevent cybercrime, preventing is an essential process.
