Community-based fishery resource management in Lam Pao Dam Reservoir

Abstract

The review article on community fishery resource management in Lam Pao Dam Reservoir aims to present policy recommendations for fishery resource management. The principles of community fishery management in Lam Pao Dam Reservoir are qualitative research using document study by analyzing and synthesizing the presentation in a descriptive manner. It was found that resource management under the characteristics of shared use by many people in society consists of important things: integration to reduce conflict or monopoly. The main goal is to focus on the community, which is the first group and a stakeholder in resource management. As for policy recommendations for fishery resource management, the principles of community fishery management in Lam Pao Dam Reservoir consist of:

1. Fishermen in Lam Pao Dam must fish under the control of the Fisheries Department, which is fishing under the law.


2. The government sector must monitor and control as well as enact laws or acts related to the control of fishing in order to conserve nature and the environment but also support fishing occupations.


3. In the sector of aquatic animal trading businesses, they must play a part in helping to conserve and promote occupations and provide fair prices to fishery occupations in Lam Pao Dam area.
