The Need of Personnel Working for The Directorate of Personnel- RTAF To Develop Their Operational Potential

Abstract
The article objectives of this research were to 1) study personal factors of personnel, supporting factors and their need to develop operational potentials 2) study their need to develop operational potentials based upon different personal factors 3) to study the relationship between supporting factors (skills, knowledge, working environment, work satisfaction, motivation) and the need to develop operational potentials. Samples included 210 personnel. Questionnaire was used as a tool to collect the data. Statistics used in this study included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test or one-way analysis of variance, Pearson's correlation coefficient. Level of significance used was 0.05.
Outcome of the study revealed that 1) on average, the scores on their need to develop operational potentials were highest on a given rating scale. Scores on the skill, knowledge, working environment, motivation were high while scores on work satisfaction, self-taught, training and continued education were highest. 2) personnel with different age, education, position/department and working experience did differ in their need to develop operational potentials with respect to the skill, the knowledge, training and continued education while personnel with different ranks did not differ in their need to develop operational potentials at 0.05 level of significance.
