Logistics service efficiency at Suvarnabhumi Airport

Abstract

The objectives of this survey research on the efficiency of logistic service provided by Suvannabhumi Airport were to 1) study personal characteristics of users, their  satisfaction, supporting factors and efficiency of the service provided 2) study the efficiency of logistic services based upon different personal characteristics.  Samples included 217 users of services . Questionnaire was used as a tool to collect the data. Statistics used in this research included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test or one-way analysis of variance, multiple comparison tests using Scheffe', Pearson's correlation coefficient. Level of significance used was 0.05.


            Outcome of the study revealed that 1) the score on efficiency of logistic services provided by Suvannabhumi Airport, on average, was high on a given rating scale. The scores on service quality, users' satisfaction were high. Supporting factors (working environment. process, service personnel, facilities, equipment, channel of public communication) ,on average, scored highly. 2) users with different sex, age, education and frequency of monthly use did not differ in efficiency of services at 0.05 level of significance 3) efficiency of service was positively correlated to process, service personnel, facilities, equipment and channel of public communication, although the relationship was low. On the other hand, efficiency of service was moderately correlated to working environment. These tests were based on 0.01 level of significance.
