Abstract

The objectives of this research were to investigate the quality of work life of florists in Bangkok and to examine factors related to their quality of work life. A questionnaire was employed to gather data from 325 sampled florists, selected using multi-stage random sampling. Data were analyzed to acquire the percentage, mean, Pearson's product moment correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. The findings revealed that the proportion of male and female sampled florists was generally equal with an average age of 33.4 years. Nearly three-quarters of the florists held a bachelor degree and earned on average THB 22,670.55 monthly income. The results showed that the sampled florists had a good quality of work life. Regarding the quality of work life aspects, the florists indicated their quality of work life was at a good level for safe and healthy environment, social relevance, development of human capacities, constitutionalism, social integration, growth and security, and adequate and fair compensation, but at a moderate level for work-life balance. The relationship among personal factors and quality of work life revealed that monthly income, monthly income and extra income, family time, rest time, acquired knowledge time, and community and social service time were positively correlated with quality of work life. The stepwise multiple regression showed that the personal factors that correlated with and influenced quality of work life were acquired knowledge time, rest time, and monthly income.
