Abstract

This research is an attempt to study and analyes the real conditions and causes of poverty problem in the Lower North by concentrating on cases studies in the poorest amphoe of Nakornsawan namely Krokpra, thatako, Phaisali, Ladyao and Nngbua, This Study emphasize on the strueture of relations of productions, distribution and exchanges; and the Farmers’ word view and their participation in the process to development to find out that basides the problems of limited resource and low productivity What really make farmers become poorer and what should be the solutions to this povety problem. The researcher suggest that measures for solving poverty problem in the poorest area of Nakomsawan should include the investment in irrigation, promotion of appropriate multiple cropping, soil improvement, extensive work, promotion of inland fishering and husbandry, Measure the countrylevel should include the reform of economic structure such as the measure to lessen the power of laigopolistic traders, promotion of cooperatives an farmer’s association extension of land reform and other agricultural reform programs. It is concluded that the solving of the poverty problem could not be done by technical means alone but a radical structural socio-economic reform is needed.
