Abstract

King Amphoe Napho was electrified by Regional Electric Authority in 1976. The young family heads were the decision makers in utilization of electricity in the families, when electricity was available. Major occupations concerned with utilization of electricity for their own sake were commerce, industry and services except farming and official service. Minor occupations of all categories had utilized electricity for their own sake. Working duration, net income and quantity of domestic property had increased. Leisure time after dinner was spent in conversation, listening to radio, watching television and going to bed late. There was more increase in the frequency of contact with the people outside. More than 90% of the villagers had no knowledge about electricity and want to gain knowledge in this regard.
