The standard program, SPSS, is a program application developed for researchers. SPSS, which stands for Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, is a large scale program developed by using two computer languages, i.e., FORTRAN and COBOL. There are 12 subprograms in the main program, all of which are translated into machine language and permanently contained in the secondary storage unit of the computer system.
