Abstract

Cultural studies regarding agricultural laws about land tenancy require retroactive examination tracing back since the beginning of history and the global culture of land tenancy. The main issue here is laws pertaining to the land tenancy of rice farmers in Thailand including the solution of rice problems in the domains of Lanna, Sukhothai, Ayudhya and Thonburi. This study compares the law principles of each domain to those of the present period, using Supreme Court judgments as precedents. The study proposes that the main reason for differences in the rules and regulations in each domain has been gradual changes in human culture and fundamental needs.
