Cost and Return on Investment of Lotus Cultivation for Cut Flower
Abstract
The production cost of Bao Luang in hot, rainy and cold seasons, averaged 5,347.48 4,681.88 and 2,573.45 Baht per rai, respectively. From the analysis on the rate of return, a summary can be made that in hot, rainy and cold seasons, the ratio of profit margin to total revenue were 0.63, 0.62 and 0.15, respectively. The ratio of profit margin to total production cost were 172.30, 163.25 and 17.80 percent, respectively. For Bao Chart cultivation in hot, rainy and cold seasons incurred an average cost of 5,917.03, 5,330.51 and 3,685.60 Baht per rai, respectively. The ratio of profit margin to total revenue were 0.62, 0.60 and 0.54 for the cultivation in the hot, rainy an cold seasons, respectively. The ratio of profit margin to total production cost were 161.45, 152.28 and 119.20 percent, respectively. From all analysis of Lotus’s earnings, the highest yield was from the hot season. Comparing the yield of rainy season to the yield of cold season, it was found that the return in the cold season was lower than the return in the rainy season. Comparing between Bao Luang and Bao Chart in each season, the yield and return on Bao Luang were higher than those of Bao Chart in both hot and rainy seasons, but the yield and return of Bao Chart was higher than Bao Luang in the cold season.
