Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the Problem of alienation in Thai society. In order to fulfill this aim, it is necessary to answer these questions: What is alienation? Alienation is the act, or result of the act, through something or somebody, becomes (or gas become) alien (or strange) to something, or somebody else. Thus an alienated person is a man who is really not a man! How does alienation take place? Alienation takes place at three levels, or in thee ways : the alienation of man from his human essence, the alienation of man from nature and the alienation of man from other men. What is the cause of alienation in Thai society? The two main causes of alienation in Thai society are in the spheres of educational system and socio-economic one. How can he overcome alienation? The means recommended for overcoming alienation is a revolution within the self, the individual’s own moral effort, as the only cure.
