Abstract

     The objectives of this research were to construct a nature learning handbook of Laleung-Roiru forest in Dong-Yai Wildlife Sanctuary, Buriram Province, and to study the quality and effects of the handbook once used. The first step involved gathering data concerning the relationship between the community and forest, ecological system, and other forest resources in Laleung-Roiru forest to produce the nature learning handbook. The second step was developing the nature learning handbook and testing it with a sample group of 30 local persons, and then improving the handbook. The third step, evaluated the handbook quality by having 13 professionals and academics in the fields of Environmental Education, Forestry, and Printed Matter analyse the handbook It was found that the nature learning handbook has a high quality with an average score of 94%. All of the respondents agreed that the handbook could be used for learning about Lalueng-Roiru forest. Other opinions were that the handbook is not only appropriate but serves multiple of purposes, both for the government and private sectors. They can use this handbook to support their forest conservation activities. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the high quality nature handbook supports the forest conservation activities and can be applied to multiple natural study purposes.
