Abstract

     Objectives of the study were to determine the participation level and factors related to people participation in the conservation of mangrove forest in Pa Prasae-Phang Rat National Forest Reserve, Klaeng District, Rayong Province. The data using for the study were collected by employing the design questionaire to interview 326 respondents residing in 9 villages which located in and around Pa Pasae-Phangrat National Forest Reserve. Chi-square was the statistical analysis method using for testing the relationship between the dependent variable and independent variables with the given significance level of .05. Results of the study indicated that people participation in the conservation of the mangrove forest was at a rather low level with the average score of 2.01. Factors related to people participation in the conservation of the mangrove forest were: number of household member, number of household labor, main occupation, total household income, social group membership, and training course attendance.
