Training and Follow-up Study of Local Plant Utilization Development for Economic Development of Watershed Community

The objectives of this research were to study basic socio - economic status of training participants attending "Training and Follow-up Study of Local Plant Utilization Development for Economic Development of Watershed Community", and the results of training and follow-up. The data were collected by interviewing from 22 participants, and statistically analyzed for percentage and arithmetic mean. The results revealed that nearly all of them were female, with the average age of 35.40 years, most of them had primary education, 59.09 percent having agricultural occupation, 81.82 percent having good health and nearly all of them were buddhists. The results of Training of Local Plant Utilization Development for Economic Development of Nan Watershed Community were shown that the participants were very high satisfied with subject matter specialist, training methodology and subject matter, but they were high satisfied with training place. It was also found that preserved wild figs, pumpkin cracker, pumpkin chili paste were very high satisfied, but preserved cabbage, vegetables and papaya were just high satisfied. According to the training follow-up results, it was shown that the participants were able to apply the preserved wild figs knowledge for their family member utilization, neighbors, making product for sale and transferring knowledge to other people. For the knowledge of pumpkin cracker, pumpkin chili paste, preserved cabbage and vegetables were applied for some items, but preserved papaya knowledge was not applied at all.
