College Students' Attitude Towards Divorce

Abstract

     The objectives of this study were to investigate and compare : 1) college students' attitude towards divorce and 2) social adjustment of college students in Bangkok. Multistage random sampling technique was used to draw a sample of 478 students. Data were analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics - - independent sample t-tests and ANOVA. The findings were as follows: 1) The attitude towards divorce as expressed by students was at an uncertainty level. 2) Almost all students (92.7%) came from democratic nurturing families. The students had good social adjustment in self-concept and social adjustment, at a moderate level. 3) The result showed no difference in students' attitude as compared by parent's marital status, family nurturing and social adjustment. The same manner appeared in comparison of social adjustment.
