The effectiveness of the administration of educational quality assurance system for performance excellence in Mahidol University

The objectives of this study were: 1. to study the effectiveness of the administration of educational quality assurance system (EQAS)for performance excellence in Mahidol University, and 2. to find some guidelines of the administration of EQAS for performance excellence in Mahidol University by using mixed method research. The quantitative data survey from 131 employees consisting of Mahidol executives, lecturers and QA staff were analyzed by mean, standard deviation and priority needs index. The qualitative data, a focus group discussion with 12 representatives of executives from faculties and departments, were analyzed by content analysis. Research findings revealed that the effectiveness of the administration of EQAS for performance excellence in Mahidol University was “moderate”. The top three situations which needed to be improved were as follows; 1. Knowledge management and information technology. 2. Listening to customers to improve results. 3.1. Strategic management and implementation and 3.2. Human resources management. In conclusion, some guidelines for administration of EQAS for performance excellence in Mahidol University were in priorities as follows; 1) Surveying the need for information technology development and identifying the best practices for exchanging learning and implementation across the organization. 2) Needs analysis of all stakeholders linked to market demand and policy networks. 3.1) “Working as a mobile” by a quality assurance unit. 3.2) Management team of each faculty and department should communicate clearly with all personnel for what needs to be done in the same direction.
