Abstract

The research aims to study the characterization of Singhakraiphop, Lion Heart Chronicle, in a Japanese manga form. The findings shows that Singhakraiphop, a main character as characterized in a Japanese manga form, has two outstanding aspects, external personality and internal personality. The external personality of the Singhakraiphop character reflects the hybridization of Thai tradition and the presentation of the character in a Japanese manga style. For example, he is a good looking man with charisma. The study also shows that the internal personality of the character is bravery, generosity, and quick-tempered. The character dislikes those who lie. Both external and internal personality of Singhakraiphop character in a Japanese manga style reflects cultural hybridization of Thai lyrical folktale and Japanese manga style.
