บทคัดย่อ

ภาษาอังกฤษเป็นภาษาที่มีความสำคัญต่อการติดต่อสื่อสารกับผู้คนทั่วโลก เช่นเดียวกับสื่อที่เกี่ยวกับข่าวสารต่างๆ ที่เป็นเครื่องมือสำคัญในการติดตามข้อมูลและเหตุการณ์สำคัญที่เกิดขึ้นในโลก การนำข่าวมาใช้ในการเรียนการสอนภาษาอังกฤษได้รับการยอมรับว่าสามารถพัฒนาทักษะทางภาษาของผู้เรียน อีกทั้งยังเสริมสร้างความรู้รอบตัวเกี่ยวกับโลกภายนอก ซึ่งเป็นสิ่งสำคัญสำหรับนักศึกษาที่เรียนภาษาอังกฤษในฐานะภาษาต่างประเทศ เนื่องจากผู้เรียนเหล่านี้มีโอกาสอย่างจำกัดในการฝึกฝนการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษนอกห้องเรียน หรือเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับวัฒนธรรมต่าง ชาติและเหตุการณ์ต่างๆที่เกิดขึ้นรอบโลก การใช้ข่าวหนังสือพิมพ์ในการสอนภาษาอังกฤษทำให้บทเรียนน่าสนใจ และกระตุ้นให้ผู้เรียนอยากเรียนรู้ภาษามากขึ้น เนื่องจากสื่อประเภทนี้มักมีเนื้อหาและรูปแบบการใช้ภาษาที่หลาก หลาย อย่างไรก็ตามการศึกษาทางภาษาศาสตร์บางส่วนชี้ให้เห็นว่าสื่อการเรียนการสอนแบบเอกสารจริงรวมถึงข่าวหนังสือพิมพ์นั้นอาจใช้คำศัพท์ยากและรูปแบบไวยากรณ์ที่ซับซ้อน ทำให้ยากต่อการทำความเข้าใจโดยเฉพาะในผู้เรียนที่มีระดับความรู้ทางภาษาอังกฤษในระดับต่ำ ในบทความนี้ผู้เขียนได้อภิปรายข้อดีและความท้าทายของการนำข่าวมาใช้ในชั้นเรียนที่มีการสอนภาษาอังกฤษในฐานะภาษาต่างประเทศ อีกทั้งเสนอแนะแนวทางการนำสื่อที่เกี่ยวกับข่าวสารมาใช้ในการเรียนการสอนเพื่อให้เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุด
