An Application of Good Governance Principles in Customhouse Officer working, Prachuapkhirikhan

Abstract

This research aimed to study: 1) the level of application of the good governance principles of the customhouse officers working in Prachuapkhirikhan, and 2) the relationships between the customhouse officers’ level of application and their understanding on the good governance principles. The samples were 130 customhouse officers in Prachuapkhirikhan. The research tools were analytical statistics such as percentage, mean and standard deviation. Chi-Square analysis and multiple regression analysis were also employed to analyze the data. The research found that: 1) the application of the good governance principles by the customhouse officers at Prachuapkhirikhan was at the highest level; 2) the officers’ understanding on the good governance principles was also at the highest level; 3) the officers’ understanding of the good governance principles had the causal relationship with their practices of the principles in their work place with the significant level at .001.
