Effectiveness of Inmate Control Management of Prisons in Area 7

Abstract

This research aims to 1) study the level of the effectiveness of inmates control management of prisons in area 7, and 2) study the administrative factors with a rational relationship with the level of the effectiveness of inmate control management of prisons in area 7. The samples used in this study were 170 correctional officials who serve in Prison 7 from 10 prisons. The data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics: percentage, mean, standard and deviation as well as inferential statistics which were  chi-square statistics and multiple regression analysis. The research results were as follows: 1) the overall aspect of the effectiveness of inmate control management of prisons in area 7 was at the highest level. When it was considered into each aspect, the highest level was drug free and peacefulness of inmate control. The highest effectiveness was jail breaking prevention. 2) The overall picture of administrative factors of inmate control management of prisons in area 7 was at the highest level. When considering each side, the arrangement was shared values, skills, personnel, administrative system, operation system, organization strategy, and organization structure respectively. 3) Management factor regarding organization strategy, organization structure strategy, and administrative system has causal relationship with inmate control management of prisons in area 7 which was significant at .001. In addition, skill aspect has causal relationship with the effectiveness of inmate control management which was at the significant level of .01.
