The Study of Chinese Cultural Capital Manifested Through Game Characters King of Glory

This article aims to study the use of Chinese cultural capital appearing through the characters in the game The King of Glory by employing the cultural capital-related concept as a framework to analyze the data. The results showed that the cultural capitals in The King of Glory could be categorized into two types: 1. tangible cultural capitals, including material cultural capitals which were: weapons and Apparel and accessories, and 2. Intangible cultural capital consisting of Chinese legends and folk tales; The belief in the sacred animal of China, and The belief in Chinese demons. The mentioned results indicated the Chinese people’s thought system, warfare, and way of life from the past until the present. The images of these cultural capitals were counted as part of the process of creating the characters in The King of Glory.
