Master Chayudee Vasavanonta as a role model for Thai music teacher

This research’s objective is to study the biography of teacher Chayudee Vasavanonta and her role as the master of Thai music. Data was collected through interviews and secondary data from archives. The study found that experiences and identities of Ms. Chayudee Vasavanonta as a music teacher were taught by her father, Mr. Payon Vasavanonta. She was trained and became a professional musician who specialized in Hammered Dulcimer instrument, which later became the key factor contributing to her role as a master of Thai music. There are three important factors contributing her master characteristics. Firstly, the knowledges, she is equipped with knowledge on the dulcimer. With her talent in advance dulcimer along with her unique skills and technique, she is able to create an outstanding masterpiece dulcimer song. Moreover, she is also the leader in conservation with advanced knowledge and ability to clearly explain dulcimer instrument to other people. Second, she is a highly moral and ethical person. Due to her diligence, frugality, sacrifice, patience, and confidence attributes, she has become an example of goodness model. She is also full of gratitude, and help maintain Buddhism. For her students, she always provides them with love, care, and good wishes. From her characteristics of peace of mind, etiquette, humble, tactful, and discipline, he created disciples of punctuality and emphasized her students to have good musician manners. The third is teaching ethics. She is an advanced artist equipped with skill and unique knowledge transfer technique. Her unique teaching style is the student-centered learning which focuses on the gap between the person, such as age differences and basic knowledge of music. Positive inspiration is used to encourage students along with team learning. Each group leader is selected by the teacher to help teach and supervise the members. Moreover, the process of peer teaching and senior help junior, contribute a good relationship between students from different ages. All of the above three features are developed into her character of the music teacher. These three characteristics later embedded into her personalities and accumulated into the experience that helps shape her role as the master of Thai music until today.
