Using Political Power in Special Situation for Hua Hin Sustainable Beach Management

Abstract

This reseach aimed to study using political power in local administration and in special situation for Hua Hin beach management, assess good governance of using political power in special situation for Hua Hin beach management and propose sustainable way for Hua Hin beach management. This research used in-depth Interview of 77 key informants. Qualitative analysis and descriptive statsistic were employed.

       The study found that using political power in local administration for Hua Hin beach management focused in cleanness management and tourism development. It was found limitation in integration of officer, unstricted law enforcement and unequal interest management. Using political power in special situation for Hua Hin beach management focused in strictly legislative management. Jointed-operation team played a key role and used five approaches for Hua Hin beach management which are; 1) stricted law enforcement, 2) integration of officer, 3) participation, 4) equal interest management and 5) good governance. Jointed-agreement was used as controlling system. And it focused in building strength of the group. These resulted in better organized Hua Hin beach and helped reducing conflicts.

        Assessment of good governance of using political power in special situation for Hua Hin beach management with 77 key informants were found very high ( = 4.38). And they expected to see using of those five approaches continued in the futre for sustainable Hua Hin beach management.
