Water Governance and Assessment Guidelines
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article aims to examine the principles of water governance and assessment guidelines through a comprehensive survey, analysis, and compilation of the governance principles, working frameworks, procedures, phases, and assessment guidelines of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The study finds that these governance principles emphasise the importance of stakeholder participation in decision-making and shared responsibility for water governance. Key principles include transparency, accountability, participation, trust, administrative efficiency, and effectiveness. The findings of this study can serve as best practice guidelines for water governance principles and assessment guidelines in Thailand.
