A Comparison of learning achievement in Thai language subject on Thai final consonant of grade 1 students during teaching using supplementary books, set of fun stories with Thai final consonant with normal teaching

Abstract

The objectives of this research were (1) to create and find out the effectiveness of supplementary books, set of fun stories with Thai final consonant. Effective according to the criteria of 80/80 (2) to compare the learning achievement of Thai language of Grade 1 students between the teaching by using supplementary books, set of fun stories with Thai final consonant with normal teaching. The research participants consist of 105 first-grade students from Demonstration School, who were enrolled in the second semester of the academic year 2022. They were selected using simple random sample, with the experimental group were 35 students from Class 1/1 using supplementary books, set of fun stories with Thai final consonant and control group were 35 students from Class 1/2 uses normal teaching. The tools used in the research were (1) supplementary books, set of fun stories with Thai final consonant (2) a lesson plan on Thai final consonant. (3) learning achievement test Thai final consonant with reliability value of the entire test equal to 0.99 using a randomized group, Pretest-Posttest design experimental design. Data analysis was conducted using percentages, means, standard deviations, and an independent samples t-test. The results of the research found that (1) supplementary books, set of fun stories with Thai final consonant effective according to the criteria of 80/80 with an efficiency score of 86.96/82.33 (2) Student achievement during teaching using supplementary books, set of fun stories with Thai final consonant with a higher spelling scale than students learning using normal teaching. Statistically significant at the .05 level, which is consistent with the hypothesis.
