The Development of Students’ Learning Achievement on the Topic of Thai culture and South-East Asia Culture by Using Cooperative Learning Techniques Teams – Games –Tournaments (TGT)

Abstract

The purposes of this study were 1) to compare the students’ learning achievement before and after using cooperative learning with Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) technique on the topic of Thai culture and South-East Asia culture, 2) to examine the students’ satisfaction toward cooperative learning with Teams Games Tournaments technique on the topic of Thai culture and South-East Asia culture. The samples used in this research were 8 Matthayomsuksa 1/2 students who are studying in the second semester of the academic year 2019 by using purposive random sampling. The instruments applied for data collection were 1) learning management plans, 2) learning achievement test, and 3) evaluation form of students’ satisfaction toward cooperative learning with Teams Games Tournaments technique. The data obtained were analyzed by the applications of mean and standard deviation. The study’s findings revealed the followings: 1) The average score of the students’ learning achievement after using cooperative learning with Teams Games Tournaments technique on the topic of Thai culture and South-East Asia culture was 13.69 (S.D = 1.69) which was higher than before using cooperative learning with Teams Games Tournaments that was 9.75 (S.D = 1.49). 2) The mean of students’ satisfaction toward cooperative learning with Teams Games Tournaments technique on the topic of Thai culture and South-East Asia culture was 4.48 (S.D. = 0.64).
