Abstract

The objective of this classroom action research was 1) to study and explore the problems that occurred in the classroom, 2) to analyze problems in the classroom that affect Thai language learning, 3) to study the causes of the problems in learning Thai language and study the causes of students who were still unable to solve problems, 4) to study the effects of innovation to solve problems in the classroom, and 5) to study the advantages and limitations of techniques used to solve problems in the classroom. The target group used in solving problems was 4 students who did not pass the evaluation criteria for reading. The research methodology consisted of 3 phases: phase 1 was concerned with the problem analysis in the classroom, phase 2 dealt with the development of innovations for problem-solving of analytical reading, and phase 3 was about using questioning technique together with the cartoon supplementary reading books to solve analytical reading problems. The results showed as follows: phase 1, the problem analysis in the classroom, it was found that the problem affecting learning performance of mathayomsuksa 2/2 students was the analytical reading problem of 4 from 27 students that did not pass the criteria set of 50%. The impact for the students as they were not able to analyze reading texts and the impact for the researcher was the learning management plans were not in accordance with the learning management plans that the researcher define. The main cause of the problem was the students were unable to classify the fact and the opinions of the texts. Phase 2, developing innovations to solve analytical reading problems, this innovation was the use of questioning technique together with the cartoon supplementary reading books to solve analytical reading problems that were checked by 3 experts with the value of the consistency index (IOC) of 0.86. Phase 3, the results of using questioning technique together with the cartoon supplementary reading books to solve analytical reading problems. It was found that 4 students passed the evaluation criteria of 70%
