A Problem Solving of Creative Writing by Using RAFT Strategy with Exercise Books of the Lower Secondary School Students 2/9 at Sriboonyanon School

Abstract

This research aimed 1) to survey, study the effect and the causes of the problem 2) to study the innovation for using to solving the problem and 3) to study the effectiveness of the learning method by using RAFT strategy with exercise books. The target groups of the research were 4 students in secondary of Sriboonyanon School who were not pass the creative writing ability standard. The research methodology was divided into 3 phases; Phase 1 analyzes problems in the classroom, Phase 2 develops innovation and Phase 3 implementation. The tools used in the research were 1) lesson plans based on RAFT strategy with exercise books 2) creative writing exercise books and 3) creative writing tests. The research findings were as follows: Phase 1 analyzes problems in the classroom found that 1) Creative writing is the most problematic. It effects to students that they cannot present their idea by using writing and effects to teacher that don’t success the learning plan. The causes of the problem were students copy the writing from internet or their friends, the learning management was boring, and the writing exercise is not interesting. Phase 2 develops innovation found that the innovation used in problem solving is the learning management using the RAFT strategy with exercise books. The results of the consistency check of the innovation by the experts found that the innovation is suitable 0.91 respectively can uses for solving the problem of creative writing ability. Phase 3 implementation found that the score of creative writing ability test are passed. The results showed that the number of students passing the standard was 70%. The percentage 77.14, 75.24, 73.33 and 71.43 respectively. Students have higher creative writing skill. The use of RAFT strategy with exercise books can solve the creative writing problem. Help students improve their writing skills, have ability to write creative and the achievement is higher. RAFT strategy makes students have imagined to writing, use of a variety of languages, present the creativity idea. And exercise books give students an interest in learning to make it understandable and proficient in writing.
