The study on therapy model in clinical social work and development

The study on the therapy model in clinical social work and development aims to study the therapeutic models in clinical social work in social work and social welfare organizations and find directions to improve the models. The study used quantitative methodology through the survey method to gather data. The questionnaire was used as an instrument of data collection from social workers. One hundred fifty-six individuals met the research criteria, but the samples who responded were 98, which the response rate of the study was 62.82%. Descriptive statistics (i.e., frequency, percent, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson chi-square) were used to analyze data.
The findings found that the most respondents used 1) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as a famous model for working with individual level/psychotherapy, 2) Satir Model as a famous model for working with family-level/family therapy, 3) Satir Model as a famous model for working with group therapy, and 4) social network therapy as a famous model for working with community-level/therapeutic community. The respondents addressed that they needed knowledge and understanding of fundamental/theory of therapy that they can use for working; needed advisors as mentors or giving advice when they had any problems during treatment processes.
The recommendations of this research were: The social work and social welfare academic institutions and professional associations should provide psycho-social therapy programs and knowledge for social worker and students using as tools for working in the future, training programs for social workers should be various channels which can support social workers to improve their capacity by themselves, should develop social workers who have experiences in the therapy to be mentors or supervisors to support a social worker, should develop models or techniques of therapy, which are concerned with the indigenous approach.
