การเสริมพลังอำนาจ: ความหมายและกระบวนการเสริมพลังอำนาจในงานสังคมสงเคราะห์

บทความนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการวิจัยเรื่อง การสร้างเสริมกลไกชุมชนเพื่อพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตผู้ต้องขังหญิง นำเสนอแนวคิดการเสริมพลังอำนาจที่นำไปใช้กับบุคคลที่อยู่ในสภาวะแวดล้อม ซึ่งการปฏิบัติงานสังคมสงเคราะห์เป็นการปฏิบัติการที่ใช้องค์ความรู้ส่งเสริมการเปลี่ยนแปลงทั้งบุคคล กลุ่ม ชุมชนและสังคมให้สามารถอยู่ร่วมกันได้อย่างสันติ มีความยุติธรรมทางสังคม เคารพความแตกต่างหลากหลายของมนุษย์เพราะการสังคมสงเคราะห์เชื่อมโยงสัมพันธ์บุคคลเข้ากับระบบโครงสร้างสังคม เพื่อที่จะให้บุคคล กลุ่ม หรือชุมชนสามารถจัดการกับข้อท้าทายในชีวิตได้ ฉะนั้นการเสริมพลังอำนาจเป็นแกนหลักสำคัญและจำเป็นอย่างยิ่งในการปฏิบัติงานกับกลุ่มผู้เปราะบางและถูกเลือกปฏิบัติจากผู้คนในสังคมนั้นจึงมิใช่เพียงการช่วยเหลือและเปลี่ยนแปลงที่ปัจเจกเท่านั้น แต่ต้องเปลี่ยนแปลงบริบทสังคมและสิ่งแวดล้อมด้วย ซึ่งจะเป็นการทำงานที่ยึดหลักความยุติธรรมทางสังคมเป็นกรอบในการดำเนินงานร่วมด้วย
