Abstract

Mass media is one of the social institutions that influence people in society in many ways, especially in cultivating people's attitudes. It is found that today the media has created the myth that beautiful women are the only standard beautiful women. If they don’t, these women become unaccepted, mocked and lacking in good opportunities in life, while women who are successful and accepted by society are all beautiful. The media doesn't present it at all, the fact that the knowledge, talent and inner beauty of a woman are also the important factors which can affect her life's success. So it is interesting how to get people in these societies to have the media literacy; the ability to analyze and interpret the massage form mass media according their media exposure, how to trust as presented by the media, or what values are covered with that content, so that those people do not fall under the mass media dominance.
