GOOD TO KNOW ABOUT DELAYED FLIGHT

Abstract

This paper focuses on the airline process and the admirable qualifications of staffs when there is a delayed flight. The passengers’ main purpose for choosing to travel by plane is to travel long distances with a short amount of time. Whether travelling for business, personal travel, excursion ticket, and the increasing of airlines, these are the things that help passengers to decide for choosing airlines more easily. However, the chosen airline which is delayed frequently might cause the passengers’ decision for the further travel. When there is a delayed flight, the IATA members airlines must specify the code and classify the cause of delay from the categories according to Airport Handling Manual Edition 40. In case of any delayed flights, for the airline responsibilities, airlines should have informed passengers immediately and should have been ready to service passengers following the guidelines. Also, the airlines should have operated under the requirements of the destination. Regardless of the cause of delayed flights caused by internal factors such as engine failure, sick crews, expecting standby crews or external factors such as civil war, weather issue, the airlines have to set the plan in order to deal with such as the quality of service process, the employee readiness, especially those who have to deal with passengers such as reservation staffs, ground staffs, and cabin crews. Therefore, when there is a delayed flight, airline must lower the delay timing, deal with passengers and problems, and meet passengers’ satisfaction in order to make them travel with the airline again.
