THAI MURAL PAINTING INTO COMPUTER ANIMATION

Abstract

This article aims to present the concept of developing Thai mural painting using computeranimation techniques. The animation should take into account the outstanding and identity of Thai murals painting which include as follows: 1) Story may be collected from Thai literary art, wayof life, beliefs, and Buddhist teachings, 2) Most of the characters may be collected from the way of life and the traditions or the performing arts of that time, 3) Most of the scenes may be from
Thai architecture in each period and the display does not have the actual dimension of the image, but will be displayed in layers starting from the bottom to the top, 4) Most shapes of the characters do not have muscle but have delicately line drawing like a woman shape, and 5) Most of the colors are muddy and are blended with more than one color, making them less gaudy like some graphics. Therefore, with cultural values and the beauty of Thai art, if there is an integrated Thai mural painting and animation and is distributed in Thailand and abroad, the authors believe that Thai mural painting will add interest to the new generation of Thais and will be attractive to foreigners to see the real Thai mural painting as well.
